Success Stories

We will be featuring self published (indie) authors here on this blog that have made some major moves in the publishing industry. Many authors start out as self-published and go on to score publishing deals with traditional publishing companies. We will be sharing their stories with you here in the coming weeks as we settle in to our transition. We are totally excited.

Self Publishing is a multi-billion dollar industry, with big names such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble cashing in by allowing authors to use their platforms from which to sell their own books. For instance, Amazon has the Kindle Direct Publishing Platform, where authors with the know how can publish their own works to it and Create-Space. Barnes and Noble has Pub-it. If you have ever wanted to publish your own works, now is the time to get the skills you need to get your work out there in a big way.

Trying Something Different

hands on keyboardOkay, first post on a new blog. We here at Blackberry Ink are excited about all of the changes we have in store. Blackberry Ink acquired Borderhouse Publishing, so all things must change to reflect this new venture.

First off, we are looking for new authors. We publish fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. We are currently revamping the guidelines for submission. At the present, we specialize in publishing ebooks. We don’t charge authors to publish their works with us; however we currently do not pay any advances. This will be changing in the near future. We do pay our authors royalties. All of this will be discussed in further detail in our guidelines and with authors we chose to publish.

We also offer publishing services for authors looking to go through the publishing process themselves via paperback or ebook.

We plan on making this a very informational blog, fun and insightful, featuring the stories you want to hear. From time to time we may feature merchandise, such as our promotional products and the books of other authors not necessarily published through us.

So, stay tuned. We have tons in store. We are working on our Facebook page at the moment, but for now, you can follow us on Twitter.

Our goal is to blog everyday here, whether it be just random things about the publishing industry, short stories or something we feel will be of great worth to the aspiring author. Only time will tell.

Stay tuned.
